I behold humanity from afar and it seems that they live such petty lives
in despair, so afraid and surrounded by lies
They never seem to find what they are looking for

The lighthouse has been my haven
A sanctuary from all the madness around
For forty years I've chosen isolation over hysterical stress in the heart of the town

I could never be away from the ocean
she sings to me and the sound of her waves they calm me

When I'm alone with her it's like she whispers to me If I'm away I can hear her calling Her depths are to me, a profound mystery
Below lies another world unseen

One night would turn out to be special
and confirm the stories I've heard as a boy
I guess I always searched for the truth within those fairytales

Naked in the moonlight she appeared
Her upper body was in human form
but below her waist instead of legs
was a tail as that of a fish

I know that she saw me as well
She kept staring back at me
then slipped into darkness again
and calm was the ocean

When I'm alone with her she whispers to me
If I'm away I can hear her calling
Her appearance to me, pure divinity
Beyond there's another world unseen
